BUILDING TOMORROW’S CAREGIVERS: THE HEALTHCARE EDUCATION ENDOWMENT
The Wamego Hospital Foundation has set an ambitious goal for the next year: to create a $200,000 endowment. This endowment will not only foster our community’s next generation of healthcare leaders but also have a lasting impact on the future of healthcare in our community.
To keep compassionate care in our community, the Wamego Health Center depends upon quality healthcare workers to utilize the state-of-the-art facility and equipment provided by the community, such as 3D mammography, MRI, and enhanced operating rooms. Furthermore, we value a culture of continuous learning to ensure that the associates who work at our hospital will always serve our patients safely and effectively, no matter the challenges we face.

To ensure a quality workforce, the foundation provides scholarships to associates dedicated to enhancing their skills and knowledge each year through additional education. This support benefits not only the associates but also the patients they serve.
The Wamego Hospital Foundation will seek a $200,000 endowment over the next year to support future education scholarships. Our goal for Wamego Match Day is $25,000.
To accomplish this, the foundation will:
- Set aside $100,000 of existing funds to match dollar-for-dollar contributions from the community through specific appeals, Wamego Match Day, Diamonds and Denim, and other donations until December 31, 2025.
- Uniquely administer and invest the funds to honor the commitment and donors’ intentions.
- Use income and interest at a level set by the board to ensure the contributions provide a sustainable annual amount of grants into the future.
Together, we can make a significant difference. This endowment, which will be a testament to our community’s commitment to the future of healthcare, is only possible because of your generous support and active participation.
WAMEGO MATCH DAY IS OCTOBER 3
The Wamego Hospital Foundation’s goal for Wamego Match Day is to raise $25,000. Wamego Match Day is a crucial opportunity for our community to come together and substantially impact the future of healthcare. The Wamego Community Foundation will match gifts up to a maximum of $5,000 in matching funds per donor, per organization will be matched on a prorated basis. Donations are eligible for a prorated match based on the total amount raised and the available matching pool. For example, if an organization raises 7.5% of the total donations, they will receive 7.5% of the matching funds.
